Not for the first time, TS Eliot’s allegorical drama about the murder of Archbishop Thomas Becket at the accidental behest of Henry II gets staged in an actual house of God – St Bartholomew the Great, which was founded in 1123, shortly before the events depicted. Our lovely Pip Brignall is currently enjoying performing in these awe-inspiring surroundings. The production has been described as “moving and compelling” and “a powerful experience”. Runs till June 14. Tickets can be booked here.
