Katriona Brown has a busy few weeks of R&Ds

Katriona has been busy on not one, but TWO research and development phases for new shows in 2026.

The first is for The House That Floated Away (working title) with ICON theatre (pictured).

Eastchurch. June 2020. The first house falls. Another dangles precariously over the cliff edge. 124 more are declared at risk. The tide continues to rise.

The House That Floated Away (Working Title) is inspired by the true stories of Eastchurch residents living on the frontline of the climate emergency.

Developed with and from testimonies of those affected, their neighbours, young people and climate experts, this new theatre piece explores resilience, belonging and the unconventional courage of a community facing unimaginable change. This new production will combine live performance, immersive headphone sound, local school pupils and a community choir… oh, and an elephant.

This production is currently being researched, developed and piloted, generously supported by Creative Estuary, Arts Council England, Garfield Weston Foundation, Medway Council and The Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust. Donations can be made Here.

The Second was developing material for ‘Imagining Animals‘, a new piece being developed for The Tower Of London by Historic Royal Palaces, Clod Ensemble and Significant Object
