As Halloween approaches it’s time to delve into the horror and fear ebbing through the streets of Whitechapel. Mary Kelly and her friends Polly, Annie Lizzie, and Cathy live and work the borough of Whitechapel. But a sinister figure is stalking the streets and it’s not safe for women to walk alone after dark. Some of them have no choice.
With Ceri Gifford playing the part of Cathy Eddowes a real woman from history who was once arrested for ‘soliciting, drunk and disorderly and impersonating a fire engine’ this is surely not one to be missed! Spooky, tense and exciting the ‘Women of Whitechapel’ opens 31st October at The Maltings Theatre in St Albans and runs until 4th November.
