Tagmin Filters

Intro

Tagmin Filters are our way of making sure an actor is suitable to a role when being subbed. We don’t want to put an actor up for a role that they can’t make due to getting married, or offer an actor up as a lion tamer when they have specified that they have a phobia of being eaten by a lion. Therefore we make thorough use of Tagmin Filters to avoid embarrassment or disappointment down the line.

What to do

  1. Open Tagmin Filters Form from the Dashboard
  2. Copy relevant information from the sub into the filters category
  3. Make sure you check Availability
  4. Be sure to set ‘Potential bookings’ field to ‘Show potential Future Bookings’.

How to do

Key Info

  1. Click the ‘Filter’ button, from the set of small grey buttons on the top right of TagMin.
  2. This will open in a section called ‘Key Info’.
  3. Within this section you can search clients by:
    • Name
    • Status – This allows us to go to Ex-Clients, should you need to.
    • Agent – This field is irrelevant for us and should always be set to All
    • Group – This field is irrelevant for us and should always be set to All.
    • Gender – This allows you to search for: All, Male, Female, Transgender Male, Transgender Female and Non-Binary.
    • Matching – This field is irrelevant for us and should always be set to Match All Terms.
    • Date of Birth – By law, we are not permitted to ask for our client’s actual age so as to avoid Age Discrimination, so we may not hold this information. It can be useful when submitting for Gambling and Alcohol commercials, as it is illegal to advertise these products if you are under 25.
    • Playing Age – if the submission specified a playing age, please type it in here.
    • Has linked sibling – This field is largely irrelevant for us , leave it blank.
    • Bases – If a submission has requested actors with a specific base, you can search for it here. For example, Actor’s must have a base within the Greater Manchester area.
    • LEA – This field is irrelevant for us, as it refers to the Local Education Authority when representing children.
    • Training – This field allows you to search by training institution/drama school
    • Allergies – This field allows you to search for clients with allergies and can be particularly useful for commercial subs that may require you to eat something or work with animals, for example.
    • Notes – This field is irrelevant for us.
    • On Spotlight – This field is irrelevant for us as we require all clients to be members of Spotlight.
    • Has Tagmin Account/Phone app – These last 2 fields are irrelevant for us at present.
    • If you do not need to search Availability, Yes Tos or Skills, please click the red Search button now.
    • Scroll through the list, being careful to read the details of any clashes or information this search throws up. Just because there is a note next to a client, does not mean they are not available/suitable.

Availability

  1. Click the ‘Filter’ button, from the set of small grey buttons on the top right of TagMin.
  2. Scroll down to the ‘Availability’ section.
  3. Take all relevant dates from the Submission/Availability Request and enter them here.
  4. Be specific. Be sure to include casting, wardrobe, recall and any other specifics, rather than a big chunk of overall dates.
  5. You can fill in several separate items here. For example, Availability (1) Casting date, Availability (2) Travel dates, Availability (3) Shoot dates etc.
  6. You must also set the ‘Potential bookings’ section to ‘Show potential Future Bookings’.
  7. When you have entered all the relevant information, click the red ‘Search’ button at the bottom.
  8. Scroll through the list, being careful to read the details of any clashes or information this search throws up. Just because there is a note next to a client, does not mean they are not available/suitable.

It allows you to search for: Accents & Dialects, Languages, Music & Dance, Performance Skills (for example, Acrobatics, Actor-Musician, Stage Combat), Sports, Vehicle Licenses, Other Skills (for example, qualifications outside of acting), Vocal Range, Dietary Requirements, Smoker and Disabilities.

  9. Scroll through the list, being careful to read the details of any clashes or information this search throws up. Just because there is a note next to a client, does not mean they are not available/suitable.
  10. If you cannot find what you need in the list, be sure to ask the relevant clients. You can always check Spotlight and the Client Wall for more information.
